Here's a little video with reactions from audience members on the night of our World Premiere at the Michigan Theater. What a fun night!
A SALOON SONG
Dear Friends and Fans of Liberty,
I've been so busy putting finishing touches on the movie, that I haven't posted here in a while. Sorry about that!
Apart from a few typos in the credits and a color tweak or two, the movie is done. We are now turning our attention giving it the best possible launch into the world. (Kind of like sending your kid off to college -- which I am also doing this year.) While we are still waiting for word on a few film fest submissions, we do know for sure that we will be premiering the film on or before Sept 22, when have booked a theater in Ann Arbor for a big public event. More on that in a later post.
This summer will be devoted to getting all our publicity and marketing materials ready, building up our network of partnerships, and preparing for the release. We hope to have the movie up and available on several online platforms by Fall. Thank you for your patience! I know this movie has been a long time in coming.
In the meantime, here is a short clip from one of my favorite scenes/songs. Without giving up too much of the movie's plot, I will say that it comes at an emotional low point in the story -- hence the bluesy music and unrestrained imbibing of alcohol. Cara AnnMarie gives a terrific performance, both singing and acting. Hope you enjoy it. Send me or post a comment if you do! Best, Andy
P.S. The music sounds MUCH better with headphones than on computer or phone speakers. So if you want to hear those bluesy bass lines ...
Love Wins
In celebration of the Supreme Court decision on Marriage Equality yesterday, here's an excerpt from Liberty's wedding, the last scene in the movie. (I figured you already knew how the movie ends.) If you would like to see the entire wedding scene, please join our mailing list on the home page, and we will send you a link. Enjoy.
Bubble and Scrub
Here's a clip from one of my favorite scenes, a revival meeting in Liberty's hometown church. A song and dance for saints and sinners alike. Hilarious performances by Caroline Helton (church lady), Ellie Todd (stripper), and Chris Lutkin (reverend).
A PeEk Behind the Scenes
Here's a new video featuring our friends Pattie and Jeanne, a couple who have been together for 27 years! They describe what it meant to them to participate in the filming the big #LibertysSecret wedding scene last summer.
